Spiritually Well-Fed
We know the right food intake—both quality and quantity—has an impact on our physical health and wellness. So it only makes sense that the things you do (or do not do) and the things you take in (what you watch, what you read, thinking patterns, others' opinions, etc) will impact you spiritually. What we take in from the media (be it social media or whatever else the world is promoting), versus what we take from the Word of God, will direct us on one of two paths: the path of destruction or the path of life. Choose life!
"To live is Christ," as Paul says in Philippians 1:21. There will be ups and downs on your journey—this is to be expected since Jesus Himself spoke that we will experience suffering in this world (John 16:33)—but Jesus is The Way to the Father, The Truth we need to live by, and The Life in which abundance is found (John 14:6; John 10:10). In Him we have all that we need in spite of the troubles and trials we'll face. Not only that, but as believers we know He has already overcome the world!
You can live a vibrant, healthy life and honor the Lord at the same time. After all, He's the one who gave you your body to begin with! Just read Psalm 139 and you'll see how He created your inmost being and knows you so intimately. We ought to take care of our bodies to the best of our abilities. To do this is in itself a form of worship (Romans 12:1; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20). But most importantly, we must look to the Lord and how to best please Him, and the rest will fall into place. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, as Matthew 6:33 states.
Stay in the Word, apply it to your life, and pray continuously. The Lord will give you wisdom whenever you ask for it (James 1:5), and we all need wisdom on a daily basis to navigate through life's challenges or any circumstance for that matter. Reverence for the Lord leads to knowledge from Him and knowledge of Him; it all begins with God (Proverbs 2:6-15).
