Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the constant stream of content on health and wellness? The latest breakthroughs, the new discoveries, the conflicting information…does it make your head spin, lead you to overthinking, or leave you at a loss for what to believe?

Me too.

Navigating what is true and what isn’t when it comes to healthy living can be hard. It can feel almost impossible to know who or what to listen to. I’m dealing with this myself as I am constantly searching for information on many aspects of health and wellness. I have a passion for living my life to the glory of God by taking care of the body He’s given me in the most wholesome ways possible (1 Corinthians 6:13, 19-20, 10:31). I want to sharpen my ability to function at my best so that I have the strength to do what He’s called me to do. I have a thirst to learn as much as I can so that I can benefit from what I know, and then share with others who can be helped by the information I’ve given them.

I also know that my body has many imperfections, and I will never be able to fix everything (2 Corinthians 4:16). I can, however, do my part to maintain and optimize my health by watching what I consume. This includes both physically and mentally; what I take in with food and drink, and what I allow my eyes to see, ears to hear, and mind to ponder. Everything we consume—whether it’s food or mass media—will affect us in some way. As believers, the greatest thing we will ever consume is Christ (John 6:48-58), and the benefit of knowing Him far outweighs anything else we could ever do (Philippians 3:7-11).

As we go into each new day, we can reflect upon how difficult it is to know what’s true nowadays concerning pretty much anything, and then bring to mind the Truth that remains unchanging: God’s Word (1 Peter 1:22-25). Proverbs 3:5-6 says this: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” My understanding of things is certainly faulty. I’m so thankful we can come to the Lord in prayer about anything that concerns us or brings anxiety (Philippians 4:6-7). In fact, every matter of our lives can be brought to the Lord in prayer. His wisdom is perfect, and when we ask for it in faith, He will not hold back (James 1:5-6, 17, 3:17).
